     ! Removed 'HB_VER_MAJOR < 1' version check, as it 
       makes it fail with the new version setting.

     + Added HB_VERSION unified version identifier:
       three bytes: major + minor + revision (0x000909)
       This is to aid 3rd parties to detect version.
